BENTONVILLE — Tim Fernandez came up with a key defensive play for the second straight week and helped Bentonville hold on for a 28-21 victory over North Little Rock in Class 7A state playoff quarterfinal action Friday night.
Fernandez, a senior defensive end, sacked North Little Rock quarterback Corvasea Cooney for a 5-yard loss on a fourth-and-11 play from the Bentonville 14 with under 2 minutes remaining. The Tigers (10-1) then ran out the clock, thanks to Jacob Clark’s 16-yard run
